Since I started going deeper into my personal development journey a few years ago, I’ve been following Mindvalley, the world’s leading personal growth platform.
I’d taken a few of their free masterclasses and loved them, and I’d been wanting to try one of their more in-depth classes, so I was super excited to try my first premium online class with them — The Silva Ultramind System.
I decided to start with this one because it’s based on a famous method for increasing creativity, strengthening intuition, and cultivating inner peace that’s been around for decades. I was really intrigued by the concept and the broad, lasting impact it’s had on millions of people. With this year being particularly challenging in a multitude of ways, feeding my personal growth has been extra important. It was the perfect time to delve into this class.

Mindvalley’s Silva Ultramind System
What is the Silva Ultramind System?
The Silva Method was created by José Silva in 1960 after he discovered that remarkable abilities and levels of awareness could be achieved at the Alpha state of brainwave activity where sleep and relaxation occur. He spent 22 years researching altered states of consciousness before developing the method, which has amassed over 6 million students in 110 countries since its founding.
Vishen Lakhiani, the founder of Mindvalley, was personally impacted by the Silva Method when he studied it early on in his life and credits it as the foundation of his personal growth journey. He became a certified Silva instructor before he went on to establish his own company. In this modern incarnation of the Silva Method, Vishen has combined Silva’s original teachings with his own perspective to bring it to a new generation of students.
The Silva Ultramind System is described as follows:
“The Silva Ultramind System is a highly optimized framework for awakening your mind’s fullest potential. Through an easy-to-follow process, you gain an instinctive understanding of the four primary states of consciousness the human mind operates in – and how to use each one to perform, evolve, and live at your peak.”
Who the class is for
If you are interested in exploring the capabilities of the human mind to further your personal development, then this is a great foundational course. The Silva Method goes into personal development techniques such as:
- Strengthening your intuition
- Discovering and stepping into your purpose
- Tapping into your creativity
- Developing more inner peace
- Using the mind to heal the body
The most important thing to have when approaching any of the classes from Mindvalley is an open mind. This course in particular touches on things like ESP (extrasensory perception), intuition, holistic healing, and manifestation. If these topics are turn-offs for you, then the teachings in this class probably won’t resonate with you.
Most of the content builds upon common personal development concepts that help you understand how the human mind ticks and empowers you with practices that will help you operate at your optimum.
The core principles of the Silva Method are rooted in how to gain better control over your own consciousness so you can more easily tap into your creativity, intuition, and ability to problem-solve.
The class is dripped over 28 days and consists of 12 hours of training which you can watch at your own pace online. You get lifetime access when you enroll so you don’t have to finish it within 28 days, but this gives you the option to partake in the community component where you can discuss the lessons with other students who are taking the class at the same time.
Each lesson is available in video or audio format. Many of the lessons include meditation, visualization exercises, and/or journaling, so you’ll need at least 20-40 minutes to dedicate to most of them without any other distractions.
There are four parts to the curriculum over the four-week period:
- Part 1: Your Ultramind Foundation
- Part 2: Knowing the Unknown
- Part 3: Attaining Your Soul Desire and Healing
- Part 4: Channeling Your Ultramind Into Your Life
The class is designed in a way that isn’t meant to be a “one and done” sort of deal. It includes practices that you can (and should) return to regularly to hone the skills that it teaches.
Mindvalley offers a free masterclass on how to access altered states of mind for intuitive guidance, creativity, and problem-solving. It’s based on the content in The Silva Ultramind System, so it will give you a taste of what to expect to see if it resonates with you or not before diving into the full class.
If you’re unsure if The Silva Ultramind System is right for you, I’d definitely recommend signing up for the free masterclass. It’s 90 minutes long so you’ll get a lot of great content even at that level.
I really enjoyed taking this class. The lessons were fascinating, especially the ones on healing (which delve into the power of the mind to heal the body) and the mental video technique, which reminded me of what I studied in neuro-linguistic programming. I love working with visualization and this class introduced some new techniques I hadn’t tried before that I’ll definitely be incorporating into my practice.
I’ve personally been a fan of Mindvalley and its founder, Vishen Lakhiani, for a few years. When I started getting deep into personal development, he was one of the first people I followed. He’s a great instructor whose passion for the material always comes through in his lessons. He made all of the concepts in this class clear and easy to understand, and his voice is very soothing in the guided exercises.
If you’re intrigued by the topics of this class (strengthening your intuition, healing the body with the mind, visualization, etc), I think it’s definitely worth adding to your collection, whether you’re new to them and looking for a good introduction to these concepts or you’re more advanced. The Silva Method is a classic for a reason.
