One of the silver linings that came from quarantine this year was discovering ambient videos on YouTube. I used to go write at coffee shops regularly before the shutdown, so to fill that void, I went looking for ambient videos I could play while writing to simulate the experience a bit.

Ambient sound refers to the background noises of a given atmosphere, such as the sounds of coffee being brewed and the indistinct chatter of patrons in a cafe. They are known to help improve people’s focus.

There are tons of amazing ambient videos on YouTube produced by some talented creators that mix the sounds with beautiful, lifelike images and sometimes, even music. There is a wide selection of themes, including holiday and winter ambient videos to help you get into the spirit of the season and focus better while writing and working.
